A Rice Full of LOVE From A Father

Few days ago, just like an ordinary day, I got in my car and played the playlist in my Ipad.I decided to go to SM to buy personal stuffs. After shopping, i decided to eat and went to a fancy restaurant where i used to go and ordered my food. Then, something caught my attention... About 2 tables in between where i was sitting i saw a family dining... I noticed that they were so happy and they were wearing clothes like they came from an event held in a church or i should say they attended a baptismal or a wedding because the little girl was wearing a gown with ribbons on her hair and the little boy was wearing a long sleeves that was smaller than his size. The mother suddenly turned her sight on me and smiled, i smiled back to her and I grabbed my Ipad for me not to stare at them anymore. While busy playing with my favorite game, a man wearing a police uniform came in and approached them, after just a few minutes the police man took the father. The 2 kids were crying maybe because with their innocent minds and hearts they did'nt understand what's going on. The father peacefully went with the police and the mother said she will follow. I took the courage to ask the wife what happened and she said it's her son's birthday and his son's wish is for them to eat a chicken together inside a restaurant in SM. Then i felt a bit confused and she continued by saying that his husband left early in the morning and when he came back, he asked his family to wear their best clothes because they will go to SM. She said she never asked where her husband got the money because she thought that he just borrowed it from a friend. That moment, she already knew what his husband have done just to not disappoint their son's wish... I told the woman to go ahead and follow his husband because i knew that he needeed her... Then i told her not to worry on the bill and told the waitress that it's on me. The teary eyed woman thanked me and I said take care... Then they walked away but just after a few steps she looked back and once again whispered the words "thank you". I nodded and waved them goodbye. I was also teary eyed because of the bitter-sweet moment of the family that time. It was the little boy's birthday and also the day when his father was arrested. I knew that when the little boy grows old, he will never forget that day when his father took all risks just to make his birthday wish come true. At the table where they dine, i saw four glasses of water, four plates with rice that they haven't finished and a brown paper bag from the supermarket. I checked what's inside and found a receipt from where the father bought the chicken. In my heart and mind, i knew why the father bought it in the supermarket because the restaurant is a bit pricy... My heart was torn into small pieces as my tears fell unconciously... I knew that his intention was to make his son happy on his birthday by fulfilling the little boy simple wish... I asked for the bill and i was right they just ordered RICE... What surprised me even more was they just ordered ONE RICE. I asked the waiter maybe the cashier punched the wrong amount because i saw that their plates were full of rice?!? The waiter said that the family brought their own rice from home. The waitress assigned to serve the family suddenly approched me and said early morning that day, the father went there and asked them if he can stay there by just ordering one rice and they said Yes... The waitress continued and said: "We never thought of him coming back with his family"... There was a sudden silence in the place, no words were uttered, my tears fell... That moment, i can't describe exactly the emotion that i felt, it seems that the feeling only existed that day... I admire the father for doing everything to make his family happy but it saddened me knowing that he needs to do something that is not right to fulfill his obligations. Whoever you are Sir, i truly admire and adore your dedication and unconditional love to your family just like how GOD loves us all. Remember, that the Son of God never chose the wrong path to feed the hungry thus, he caught fishes in the sea and God gave Him miracle bread to serve and feed his people.
